Sharmaine Ong is an Asian American writer residing in a snug Brooklyn apartment with her playful and inspiring cat, Truffles. As of May 2016, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts and Science in English and Creative Writing at the University of New Mexico. Sharmaine is currently an MFA candidate at St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn where she is working on her first chapbook. She has written a number of articles for College Candy, Spoon University, picVpic, and CAPS UNM, and her flash essay “Americana,” was published by hippocampus literary journal.
